Digital Works 2021 - 2024

These digital work exists to honor the ephemeral: poured and manipulated chemicals and paint reacting with each other on canvas. This is where the foundation of a pieces are laid and where the journey begins. I approach art like music: I use tools, textiles, and liquids to create "samples" that are then combined with other samples—different technologies, whether it be the camera I use to capture the above reactions, or the programs I use to manipulate the subsequent images digitally—combined to create the final decoupage of analog and augmented. Borrowing from the every day to the digital, I celebrate the dichotomies that exist within us: the many facets or characters that we may want to keep separate yet struggle to escape our ultimate states as a human collage. My work exists to encouragement the marriage of our discrepancies and to protest society's desire for us to be only one single version of ourselves.

Erbium Nightmares [2022 - ____ ]

Erbium Nightmares serve as a symbol of this push and pull expressed in dream/nightmare format. The jarring color combinations represent the milliseconds of haze and confusion between sleep and awake; startling or comforting shapes represent the visitors we may meet while asleep. And the marriage of code and organic materials serve as the stitches that fuse our dreamland and waking states.
